The short film is set in an alternate historic China, in which the inhabitants are anthropomorphic animals and the intervention of Alien Technology has resulted in a rapid advancement of technological development. I was tasked with developing the look of this world, blending visual elements of early Qing dynasty with “Alien” technology. For the alien design language, I drew inspiration from the Bronze Age in ancient Chinese History, attempting to create a visual language that was both foreign but familiar.
